Simple Rasam

IMG_9953This is a simple rasam which can be made quickly when you are in a hurry. The taste will be very nice and you can drink it. This simple rasam recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 15minutes

Ingredients:

  • Tomato -1
  • Red chilli -2
  • Hing/Asafortida -1tsp
  • Channa Dal/Kadalai parupu -1tsp
  • Thoor dal/Thuvaram parupu -3tsp
  • Coriander seeds/Dhania/Malli vithai -3tblsp
  • Pepper powder/Milagu thool -2tsp
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1tblsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1tsp
  • Tamarind water -3cups (Soak lemon size tamarind in water and extract the juice and mix with water)
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Coriander leaves –A spring
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Cumin seeds/Seerakam -1/2tsp

Preparation:

  • Soak lemon size tamarind in water and extract the juice and mix with water
  • Wash and chop tomato into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Dry fry channa dal, toor dal, hing, coriander seeds, and grind with chilli powder and pepper powder
  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add tomato and fry
  • Then add tamarind water and boil
  • Add turmeric powder, salt coriander leaf and boil
  • Pout oil in a pan
  • Temper by adding mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves and add it to the rasam
  • Simple Rasam is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

IMG_9948Pout oil in a pan. Temper by adding mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves and add it to the rasam
