Raw Mango Rice/Manga Sadam

IMG_8969This is a quick and tangy variety rice which can be prepared easily when you are in a hurry. You can also prepare this when you have left over rice. The taste will be very nice with a tanginess added to it. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Cooked Rice -1cup
  • Raw mango/Manga -1/2
  • Mustard seeds/KAdugu -1tsp
  • Urad Dal/Ulutham parupu -1/2tsp
  • Channa Dal/Kadalai parupu -1tsp
  • Peanuts/Nilakadalai -1tsp
  • Hing/Asafoetida/Perunkayam -1tsp
  • Red chilli -3
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1tsp
  • Salt -1/2 tsp
  • Oil -2tblsp

Preparation:

  • Cook rice
  • Grate raw mango using a grater

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds, urad dal, channa dal, peanuts, hing, red chilli, curry leaves and fry
  • Then add raw mango and fry
  • Add cooked rice, turmeric powder and salt and mix well
  • Raw mango Rice is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
