Ragi Vermicelli Upma/Ragi Semiya Upma

IMG_9038This is a tasty and easy breakfast recipe which can be done quickly. It can be easily prepared when you are in a hurry. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 15minutes

Ingredients:

  • Ragi Semiya/Ragi Vermicelli –1packet
  • Big onion -1
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Urad Dal/ULtham Parupu -1tsp
  • Red chilli -2
  • Hing/Asafoetida/Perunkayam -1tsp
  • Ginger -1tsp
  • Green chilli -1
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Coriander leaves –A spring
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Immerse ragi vermicelli in water for 5minutes and keep it in idli pan and boil it for 15minutes
  • Then take it out and shred it into pieces
  • Chop onion into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Immerse ragi vermicelli in water for 5minutes and keep it in idli pan and boil it for 15minutes
  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds and after they crackle, add urad dal, red chilli, hing, ginger and onion and fry
  • Then add green chilli and curry leaves and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add the boiled ragi vermicelli and mix well and add coriander leaves
  • Ragi Vermicelli Upma is now ready!!!

 

 

Step by Step Procedure:
