Purple Cabbage Fry/Muttai Kos poriyal

IMG_9493This is a fry prepared with purple cabbage which goes well as a side dish for rice. The taste will be very nice and the preparation is also very simple

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 25minutes

Ingredients:

  • Purple Cabbage -1/2
  • Big onion -1
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Green chilli -1
  • Coconut -1/4cup
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -2tsp
  • Red chilli -2
  • Cumin seeds/Seerakam -1tsp
  • Small Onion/Shallots -3-5
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -3tblsp or as required

For Grinding:

  • Coconut -1/4cup
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -2tsp
  • Red chilli -2
  • Cumin seeds/Seerakam -1tsp
  • Small Onion/Shallots -3-5

Grind this without adding water

Preparation:

  • Chop onion and cabbage into small pieces
  • Grind coconut, coriander powder, red chilli, cumin seeds and onion without adding water

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add green chilli, curry leaf and onion and fry
  • Add cabbage and fry till it gets cooked
  • Grind coconut, coriander powder, red chilli, cumin seeds and onion without adding water and add this and mix well
  • Purple Cabbage Fry is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Chop purple cabbage into fine pieces

IMG_9475Pour oil in a pan. Add green chilli, curry leaf and onion and fry

IMG_9476Add cabbage and fry till it gets cooked

IMG_9477Grind coconut, coriander powder, red chilli, cumin seeds and onion without adding water and add this and mix well
