Puffed Rice Upma/Pori Upma

IMG_9934This is a tasty breakfast made with puffed rice. You can prepare this easily when you are in a hurry. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Puffed Rice/Pori -1cup
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Big onion -1
  • Peanuts -2tblsp
  • Carrot -1
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1tsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1tsp
  • Coriander leaves –A spring
  • Lemon juice -1tsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -3tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion and carrot into small pieces
  • Take puffed rice and wash in water and drain immediately

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add mustard seeds and after they crackle add peanuts and onion and fry
  • Add carrots and fry
  • Add chilli powder and turmeric powder and mix well
  • Add puffed rice and mix well
  • Add coriander leaves and lemon juice and switch off the flame
  • Puffed Rice Upma is now ready

Step by Step Procedure:

Pour oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and after they crackle add peanuts and onion and fry
