Onion Tomato Gravy/Venkaya thakkali kuruma

IMG_9246This is a tasty gravy which goes well as a side dish for chapatti. It can be prepared very quickly and can be kept when we are in a hurry. It required only few and easily available ingredients.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 25minutes

Ingredients:

  • Big Onion -2
  • Green chilli -2
  • Ginger garlic paste -1tblsp(For homemade ginger garlic paste click here –> Click)
  • Tomato -2
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -2tsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -2tsp
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1tsp
  • Cumin powder/Seeraka thool -1tsp
  • Water -1cup
  • Salt -1tsp
  • Oil -3tblsp

Preparation:

  • Chop onion and tomato into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add green chilli and onions and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and fry well
  • Then add tomatoes and fry well till it becomes soft
  • Then add chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well
  • Then add water and boil till the gravy becomes thickened
  • Onion Tomato gravy is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
