Chutney Rice

IMG_7981This is a variety rice which can be prepared easily when you are in a hurry. When you have leftover rice you can do variety rice like this and have. The preparation is very easy and you can give as a lunch for kids easily. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 15minutes

Ingredients:

  • Cooked Rice -1cup
  • Red chilli -3
  • Garlic -3
  • Big onion -1
  • Tamarind -1inch piece
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Urad Dal/Ulutham parupu -1tsp
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -3tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Cook rice

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add garlic and red chilli and fry
  • Then add onion and fry till it becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add salt and tamarind and mix well and allow to cool and grind it in a mixer
  • Add this to an pan and fry slightly
  • Add cooked rice to it and mix well
  • Pour 2tsp oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves to it and fry
  • Then add it over the rice and mix well
  • Chutney Rice is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
