Poori Masala

IMG_7767This is a tasty and a best side dish for poori and also can be taken with chapathi. The preparation is very easy and you can easily prepare this when you are in a hurry or can prepare it when you go for picnics. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 20minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes -2
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -2tsp
  • Cumin Seeds/Seerakam -1tsp
  • Channa Dal/Kadalai Parupu -1tblsp
  • Urad Dal/Ulutham parupu -1tsp
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Green chilli -3
  • Big onion -2
  • Turmeric Powder/Manjal thool -1tsp
  • Coriander leaves –A spring
  • Lemon juice -1tsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Pressure cook potatoes for 3whistles in high flame and in low flame for 10minutes
  • Chop onion and green chilli into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Pressure cook potatoes for 3whistles in high flame and in low flame for 10minutes
  • Mash it and add turmeric powder
  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, channa dal, urad dal, curry leaves and onion
  • Then add green chili and and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add the mashed potatoes and mix well and add salt
  • Then add coriander leaves and lemon juice and mix well
  • Poori Masala is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
