Phirni

IMG_8423Phirni is an Indian sweet dish made with ground rice combined with milk and sugar flavored with cardamom. It is a milk based dessert and can be made for special occasions like Diwali, Holi and for any festivals. The taste will be very nice and the preparation is also very simple. You can do it by using normal rice or with basmati rice but basmati rice gives a rich taste to the sweet.

Preparation Time: 5minutes

Cooking Time: 25minutes

Soaking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Basmati Rice -5tblsp
  • Milk -3cups
  • Elachi powder/Cardamom powder/Elakai powder -1tsp
  • Condensed Milk -1/4cup
  • Sugar -1/2cup or as required

Preparation:

  • Soak Basmati rice in water for 30minutes

Procedure:

  • Soak Basmati rice in water for 30minutes
  • Drain the water and grind it in a mixer to a fine paste
  • In a pan, boil 3cups of milk and then add the grinded basmati rice and stir it in low flame. If you want a bit watery add more milk
  • Then add cardamom powder and condensed milk and mix well and stir
  • Then add sugar and mix well
  • Phirni is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Soak Basmati rice in water for 30minutes. Drain the water and grind it in a mixer to a fine paste
