Mushroom Manchurian Gravy

IMG_8265This is a Chinese recipe which goes well as a side dish for fried rice, noodles, chapathi, naan and paratha. This mouthwatering dish and can be easily prepared at home. Mushrooms, though they are classified as vegetables in the food worlds they are not plants but they belong to the fungi kingdom. Mushrooms have several important nutrients. Mushrooms are naturally low in fat, cholesterol, and calories. Mushrooms are rich in B vitamins such as riboflavin, folate, thiamine, pantothenic acid, and niacin. So we can cook mushroom in different ways and can have it in our diet.

Preparation Time: 30minutes

Cooking Time: 45minutes

Marinating Time: 15minutes

Ingredients:

  • Mushroom -200gms
  • Maida -1cup
  • Cornflour -1/2cup+2tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste -1tblsp(For homemade ginger garlic paste click here –> Click)
  • Pepper powder/Milagu thool -3tsp
  • Water -1/4cup+1/2 cup
  • Big Onion -2
  • Garlic -5 pods
  • Green chilli -2
  • Capsicum-1/4cup
  • Tomato sauce -2tblsp
  • Soya sauce -1tblsp
  • Lemon juice -1tblsp
  • Sugar -2tsp
  • Spring Onion -2tblsp
  • Salt -2tblsp or as required
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

For Marination:

  • Mushroom -200gms
  • Maida -1cup
  • Corn flour -1/2cup

  • Pepper powder/Milagu thool -1tsp
  • Water -1/4 cup or as required
  • Salt -1tblsp

Oil –for deep frying

Preparation:

  • Wash and chop mushrooms into small pieces
  • Marinate it with maida, corn flour, ginger garlic paste, pepper powder, salt and water for 15minutes
  • Chop onion, green chilli and capsicum into small pieces
  • Mix 2tsp corn flour with 1tblsp water without any lumps

Procedure:

  • Wash and chop mushrooms into small pieces
  • Marinate it with maida, corn flour, ginger garlic paste, pepper powder, salt and water for 15minutes
  • Pour oil in a pan for deep frying
  • Add the mushrooms one by one and deep fry and keep aside
  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Add garlic, onion and fry
  • Then add green chilli and mix well
  • Then add capsicum and fry till it gets cooked
  • Then add tomato sauce and mix well
  • Then add soya sauce and mix well
  • Then add lemon juice and mix well
  • Then add pepper, salt and sugar and mix well
  • Then add ½ cup water and boil
  • Then add the deep fried mushroom and mix well
  • Then add corn flour mixed with water and mix well and boil
  • Then switch off the flame and add spring onions
  • Mushroom Manchurian is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:

Wash mushrooms well in water
