Lima Beans Sundal/Mochai Payaru Sundal

IMG_8845This is an easy and tasty sundal made with mochai payaru. This can be prepared for morning breakfast or as an evening snack too. The preparation is very easy with only a few ingredients. I have used fresh mochai and so no soaking is required else you have to soak for 6-8 hours and use it. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 20minutes

Cooking Time: 15minutes

Ingredients:

  • Mochai payir/Lima Beans -1cup
  • Big Onion -1
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Green Chilli -1
  • Coconut -1/4cup
  • Fennel seeds/Perunjeerakam/Sombu -2tsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

For Grinding:

  • Coconut -1/4cup
  • Fennel seeds/Perunjeerakam/Sombu -2tsp

Grind this coarsely without adding water

Preparation:

  • Pressure cook mochai payir in cooker for 3whistles in high flame and in low flame for 15minutes
  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Grind coconut and fennel seeds coarsely without adding water

Procedure:

  • Pressure cook mochai payir in cooker for 3whistles in high flame and in low flame for 15minutes
  • Pour oil in pan
  • Add mustard seeds, curry leaves and onion and fry
  • Then add the boiled mochai payir and mix well
  • Grind coconut and fennel seeds coarsely without adding water and add this and mix well
  • Mochai Payir Sundal is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
