Lady’s Finger Fry/Okra Fry/Bhindi Fry/Vendakai fry

IMG_8920This is a tasty fry which goes well as a side dish for rice. It can be prepared easily and it is very healthy too. Lady’s finger has a lot of health benefits too. Lady’s finger helps to control blood sugar levels and improves digestion. It improves immunity and improves eyesight too. So it can be eaten raw or it can be cooked in any form and can be added to our diet.

Preparation Time: 20minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Ladysfinger -15
  • Big Onion -1
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Urad Dal/Ulutham parupu -1/2tsp
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Green chilli -3
  • Coconut -1/4 cup
  • Salt -2tsp or as required
  • Oil -2tblsp or as required

For Grinding:

  • Green chilli -3
  • Coconut -1/4 cup

Grind this coarsely without adding water

Preparation:

  • Wash and chop lady’s finger and spread over a newspaper to avoid the stickiness
  • Chop onion into small pieces
  • Grind coconut and green chilli coarsely without adding water

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • After it gets heated, add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and onion
  • Then add lady’s finger and fry till it gets cooked
  • Grind coconut and green chilli coarsely without adding water and add this and mix well
  • Lady’s finger Fry is now ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
