Homemade chutney powder/Homemade Idli Milagai Podi

IMG_8779This is a homemade idli milagai podi which goes well as a side dish for idli and dosa. Apart from chutneys and sambar this gives a good accompaniment for South Indian breakfast. This can be made in home very easily and can be stored and used whenever needed but use a clean, dry spoon every time. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Urad Dal/Ulutham parupu -1cup
  • Thoor Dal/Thuvaram Parupu -1/2 cup
  • Red Chilli -8
  • Garlic -6 pods
  • Curry leaf -1/4cup

Preparation:

  • Wash curry leaves and dry it

Preparation:

  • Dry fry red chilli and keep aside
  • Dry fry curry leaves in a pan and keep aside
  • Pour 1tsp oil
  • Add urad dal and fry till it becomes brown in color in low flame
  • Pour 1tsp oil
  • Add thoor dal and fry and keep aside
  • Grind everything with garlic and store in an airtight bottle and store
  • Homemade Idli Podi is ready!!!

Step by Step Procedure:
