Egg Gravy

IMG_8017This is a gravy prepared with egg which goes well as a side dish with chapathi, naan, parathas, biriyani and fried rice. The taste will be very nice and spicy. This tangy gravy with a nice flavor is prepared by doing masala at first and then adding it into the gravy. We can see the recipe now

Preparation Time: 15minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Egg -1
  • Fennel seeds/Sombu/Perunjeerakam -2tsp
  • Cinnamon/Pattai -1inch stick
  • Big Onion -2
  • Curry leaves –A spring
  • Tomatoes -2
  • Red chilli powder/Milagai thool -1tblsp
  • Coriander powder/Malli thool -2tsp
  • Pepper powder/Milagu thool -1tsp
  • Coconut -1/4cup grinded
  • Green chilli -1
  • Salt -1tblsp or as required
  • Oil -3tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Grind coconut slightly in a mixer
  • Chop onion, tomato and green chilli into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Pour 1tblsp oil in a pan
  • Add fennel seeds and cinnamon and fry
  • Then add one chopped onion and curry leaves and fry till onion becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper powder and fry
  • Then add one tomato and fry till it becomes soft
  • Then add grinded coconut and mix well
  • Allow it to cool and grind it using a mixer
  • Pour 2tblsp oil in a pan
  • Add one onion and fry till it becomes golden brown in color
  • Then add one tomato and green chilli and fry till it becomes soft
  • Then add salt and water and boil
  • Then add the grinded masala and boil
  • Then add egg and mix it well with the gravy. If you don’t like to mix egg leave it as a whole and boil till egg gets cooked
  • Then add coriander leaves and mix well
  • Egg Gravy is now ready!!!
