Bell Pepper Chutney/Capsicum Chutney/Kodamilgai Chutney

IMG_9000This is an easy and tasty Capsicum chutney which can be taken as a side dish for idli and dosa. The taste will be very nice and even kids will love it. Capsicum have very high content of vitamin A, C and E. So it can be added in out diet in any form as we like

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 20minutes

Ingredients:

  • Bell pepper/Capsicum/Kodamilagai -1
  • Mustard seeds/Kadugu -1tsp
  • Cumin seeds/Seerakam -1tsp
  • Curry leaf –A spring
  • Green chilli -2
  • Garlic -3
  • Turmeric powder/Manjal thool -1tsp
  • Salt -1tsp or as required
  • Khus Khus/Poppy seeds/Kasa Kasa -1tsp
  • Tamarind -1inch piece
  • Oil -1tblsp or as required

Preparation:

  • Wash and chop capsicum and green chilli into small pieces

Procedure:

  • Pour oil in a pan
  • Then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaf, green chilli and fry
  • Then add capsicum and fry well till it gets cooked
  • Then add turmeric powder, salt and poppy seeds and fry well
  • Then grind it with tamarind
  • Capsicum Chutney is now ready!!!
