Apple Halwa

IMG_8460This is a sweet which can be done easily by using apples. It requires only few ingredients but tastes so heavenly. Children will be very fond of this sweet as it tastes so nice. Apples has a lot of health benefits too. Apple fruit contains good quantities of vitamin-C and beta-carotene. Vitamin C is a powerful natural antioxidant. Consumption of foods rich in vitamin C helps the body develop resistance against infectious agents and scavenge harmful, pro-inflammatory free radicals from the body. To be short, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”. But if we eat apples daily it will be boring and so we can make different recipe like halwa with this. The recipe is as follows

Preparation Time: 10minutes

Cooking Time: 30minutes

Ingredients:

  • Apples -2
  • Sugar or Jaggery or Velam -1cup
  • Cardamom powder/Elachi powder/Elakai powder -1tsp
  • Cashew -5-10
  • Kismis -5-10
  • Ghee -1tblsp+1tsp

Preparation:

  • Wash the apples and peel the skin and chop it into fine pieces
  • Then grind it in a mixer and keep

Procedure:

  • Wash the apples and peel the skin and chop it into fine pieces and then grind it in a mixer and keep
  • Pour ghee in a pan and add the apples to it and stir it well
  • Add sugar or vellam or jiggery and stir in low flame for some time till the color changes and then switch off the flame
  • Pour ghee in a pan and fry cashews and kismis on it and add to the halwa
  • Apple Halwa is now ready!!!
